As finals approach, student stress increases

Students pack into Duquesne University's Gumberg Library on Wednesday to take advantage of a reading day, which is a designated day for studying before final examinations officially start Thursday. According to Marie Hirsch, a nurse practitioner at the University's Health Services, the number of sick students who visit Health Services remains constant around finals, but the number of stress-related illnesses increases. Stress related illnesses can be serious and it's understandable that students experience a great deal of stress around finals time. Maybe the school can offer some sort of stress management guidance to help relieve the stress and reduce the amount of illnesses. (Continued…)
