Ways to eat healthier but spend your FLEX wiser
• Be cautious of overloading on high caffeine and sugar beverages, look for 100 calorie snack packs (The Off Ramp), purchase fruit for your desserts or low-fat frozen yogurt instead of ice cream.
• Visit The Hogan Dining Center for the all-you-care-to-eat offerings: the salad bar, granary and the new vegetarian station.
• Stop by one of the convenience stores and find low-fat, low-calorie and natural foods to stock up your microfridge.
• Take advantage of our 20-percent bonus on deposits of $350 or more.
Cash saving tips [on and off campus]
• Plan your meals (make a grocery list or check internet menus) before going to the grocery store or heading to campus. Going to the store hungry makes you overbuy.
• Share a meal with someone else. Sharing splits the calories and the cost.
• Box up part of your meal and take it home. Try it before you even eat to limit your portions and still have food for later.
• Drink water before your meal, it fills you up.
• Eat slowly and savor your food. The longer you chew, the less you eat.
